Field tests for the assessment of artificial turf in accordance with
the FIFA Quality Programme and EN standards.
Advanced Artificial Athlete
(Triple A)
Μέτρηση απορρόφησης κραδασμών και επιστροφής ενέργειας. Αποτυπώνεται η αντίδραση της επιφάνειας σε διέγερση όμοια με το ποδοσφαιρικό πόδι.
Ball rebound
Determination of the vertical ball rebound to assess the bounce characteristics of a playing surface when a ball is released from a magnet at a specified height and dropped onto the surface.
Infill depth
The test measures the depth of the infill material layer across the playing surface.
Rotational resistance
Determination of the surface resistance to rotation exerted by a studded test plate, a simulation of a player’s foot.
Traction is a crucial aspect of the interaction between player and surface that can significantly affect players’ performance and pose injury risks.
Free pile height
This test method is used to measure the non-elongated free pile height in artificial turf carpets, or the sward length of turfgrass in natural and hybrid system surfaces.
Surface planarity
Determination of evenness by locating deviations of the surface under a 3 m straight edge.
The method is used to assess surface regularity and, most importantly, to map out all pitch areas of potential risk to players.
Ball roll
Ball roll is determined by measuring the distance a ball covers when rolling on the surface after it is being released from a specific height and through a ramp of predefined specifications. This test assesses the extent of the ball's unimpeded movement across the pitch.
