The value of choosing
an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory
ISO/IEC 17025 is the most important accreditation standard for testing laboratories worldwide. Our ISO 17025 accredited laboratory has demonstrated, through regular inspections by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD), that it is technically competent to carry out field tests using exclusively calibrated equipment that ensures the reliability and accuracy of the results.
The process is overseen by ESYD-appointed experts and ensures that the laboratory’s quality management system is thoroughly and regularly evaluated. This guarantees sustained technical competence and compliance.
ESYD is a founding member of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and a full MLA/MRA member of ILAC and IAF in all corresponding ILAC and IAF multilateral agreements. Through these agreements between accreditation bodies at global level, accreditation recognition of signatories is expanded all over the world.
What is an accredited testing laboratory?
ISO/IEC 17025 is a globally recognized standard specifying requirements for quality and competence in testing and calibration laboratories.
Accreditation bodies use ISO 17025 to assess factors pertaining to a laboratory’s ability to produce accurate test data, such as:
- Traceability of measurements and calibrations in reference to national standards.
- Validity and suitability of test methods.
- Equipment conformity and maintenance.
- Personnel competence.
- Data quality management.
- Proper handling and transportation of test items.
- Test conditions.
The risks of using uncalibrated equipment
It is crucial to note that the use of non-calibrated equipment may compromise the precision of measurements and affect many areas, including safety, productivity, and work quality.
It can put people in the laboratory or field at risk, produce inaccurate results, cause process deviations, inappropriate testing conditions, poor documentation, and thus undermine the assessment outcome.
How does accreditation benefit the client?
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for testing natural and artificial turf pitches provides multiple benefits to clients:
Confidence in results — Informed decision-making
Accredited laboratories adhere to strict methodology protocols that ensure the scientific accuracy of their measurements.
Complete transparency and independence from commercial or any other influence are prerequisites for the accreditation of a laboratory, as well as a guarantee to the client that they will receive the results of an objective evaluation with complete and reliable data for making appropriate decisions.
Maximizing performance — Reducing costs
Standardized field tests contribute to the timely and accurate identification of problems, allowing targeted interventions without unnecessary costs.
Test data and laboratory analyses can be utilized to optimize pitch maintenance, in efficient resource allocation and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices, extending the lifespan of the turf and enhancing surface performance.
Safe surface — User confidence
Field tests to determine surface characteristics such as traction and shock absorption ensure that the turf is safe for players, reducing the risk of injuries.
Playing surfaces tested by accredited laboratories are preferred by professional players, teams, and event organizers.
Certified quality — Competitive advantage
Assessment and certification by an accredited laboratory provides competitive advantage to the client, as it proves that their pitch meets stringent quality standards.
Collaboration with an accredited laboratory is an essential tool for sports venues aiming to offer top performance and an exceptional game experience.
